The 2008 season for the Kansas City Chiefs ended on a very low note for the team, and more is hoped for the 2009 Kansas City Chiefs Schedule. They had their worst season, losing all but two of their sixteen regular season games. They lost 34 to zip against the Panthers. The Chiefs passed up two losses to the Falcons and Titans with 24 point margins. They also managed to throw away a record high 54 points to the Buffalo bills. Carl Peterson, the teams then-president, resigned from his post. Herman Edwards was fired from his position as head coach, to be replaced by Todd Haley.

The Chiefs decided to build upon their team by trading away their second round draft for Matt Cassel, the Patriots quarterback. Mike Vrabel was also acquired in this deal. Since 2005, the Chiefs have been going down hill quite significantly. The 2009 Kansas City Chiefs Schedule starts with their first preseason game on August 15th. They will face the Texans, and it will be a home game.
