The AFC's South division is widely regarded as one of the toughest, and the Houston Texans have felt the weight of this since their inception. Perhaps they would advance further in another division, but this is not the case now. For the 2009 Houston Texans schedule, they recovered quarterback Matt Schaub. Their defense is pretty solid as well, lead by Mario Williams. Andre Johnson should help increase their success rate, but a star receiver is far from what a team needs to carry them to a long running, victorious season.

The Texans are the only team that have never made it to the post season, out of all active NFL teams.
