Peyton Manning Leads Player Props In Ravens vs. Colts Playoff Matchup

NFL News - January 15th, 2010 - Written by John

manningPeyton Manning won his NFL-record fourth MVP award for his performance in a leading role with limited support on offense this season. After Week One, when starter Anthony Gonzalez went down with a knee injury, Manning was down to Reggie Wayne and a pair of leftovers from the previous two drafts, one with a name that sounds more like a hors d'oeuvres than a big league receiver.

But he put together probably his finest season, spreading the ball out to Wayne, rookie Austin Collie and sophomore Pierre Garcon, while also keeping tight end Dallas Clark in the loop. Despite having the league's worst rushing attack, the Colts went on to win their first 14 games before Manning and Co. were benched to save them for the playoffs.

But after three weeks of laying around and going through the motions, it remains to be seen if Manning can pick it back up and perform at his typical level against a Baltimore Ravens team that is gliding into Lucas Oil Stadium with plenty of momentum. Thus, Manning is getting long odds to top 285 1/2 passing yards on the day, according to NFL Betting Lines, getting a -130 payout if he does and an even payout if he falls short.

Bodog is giving bettors -200 odds that Manning will throw an interception in the NFL Playoffs game because a) Baltimore picked off Tom Brady, who is the other half of playoff quarterback preference debate, three times and b) Manning was picked off four times in his last two complete games.

The vast difference in team's running game is evident in the odds. Ravens running back Ray Rice has a yards total of 90 1/2 that he will have to crack to reach the over, while Indianapolis' Joseph Addai only need to top 60 1/2.
