NFL News - September 9th, 2009 - Written by John

The Browns' quarterback controversy is no more. Brady Quinn was named the starter by head coach Eric Mangini Tuesday, the Dealer reports, ending a summer-long saga between he and former starter Derek Anderson.

Mangini reportedly broke the news to the duo after practice, and multiple news outlets have confirmed the news.

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens even sent congratulations to Quinn via Twitter.

Quinn was clearly performing better than his counterpart during the preseason, with a 86.1 passer rating compared to Anderson's 51.3. Quinn was 21-of-31 for 225 yards and a touchdown. He only had one interception, while Anderson had two.
