Koscheck Favored To Dominate Frank Trigg In UFC 103 Undercard

Sports Betting News - September 16th, 2009 - Written by Scott

koscheckAt UFC 103 Saturday night, the bout between Josh Koscheck and Frank Trigg is a fight where both fighters need to come out with a win. This fight will take place at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas. Koscheck is trying to rebound from his last fight loss to Paulo Thiago and Trigg is trying to justify the UFC's decision bring him back. This fight will be crucial for both fighters as they look to gain a shot at the welterweight title in the near future. This fight should not be a stand up fist fight as both Koscheck and Trigg possess strong wrestling backgrounds.

Koscheck, who is 14-4-0, will bring his athletic game to the fight. He is facing a very strong opponent in Trigg and must use his background in wrestling to win the fight on the canvas. However, for the first time in his career, he has been training with a strength coach so we shall see how this has paid off for him. It will be interesting to see how Koscheck, who is 5'10" and 170 pounds, adjusts to the lefty fighting Trigg.

Like Koscheck, Trigg brings his great wrestling and judo background to the fight. He is a very conditioned fighter who can go the distance if needed. The 37 year old fighter will need this endurance as he goes against his younger opponent. This has shown true as he has not registered a knockout in quite a while. The 5'18" 170 pound southpaw will be fighting in his first UFC fight since 2005. He is also a great mixed martial arts fighter and this should help him against Koscheck. Eight of his nineteen wins have come by way of knockout and six by submission. Trigg does possess good boxing skills, but his punches should not be enough to knockout Koscheck. He will need to look to get this victory on the ground.

BetUS Sportsbook has the fight line listed at +300 for Trigg and -400 for Koscheck. This should be a great undercard fight in UFC 103. Both have similar fighting styles and it will be interesting to see which one uses it to their advantage.
