Daley Slips In To Fight Kampmann After Swick Bows Out At UFC 103

Sports Betting News - September 18th, 2009 - Written by Scott

paul daleyIn what expects to be an exciting night at UFC 103, one of the undercard bouts between Martin Kampmann and Paul Daley is sure to be a great fight with the last minute addition of Daley. Daley is taking the place of Mike Swick who was scheduled to fight Kampmann this Saturday night. Swick had to pull out of this welterweight fight due to an injury. Most fans see this as a disappointment, but rest assured, Daley will come in and make it interesting.

Martin "The Hitman" Kampmann comes into the fight with a 15-2 record. Not fighting Swick and now fighting a lesser opponent in Daley might have caused him to not get a title shot as soon as he expected. However, he should not let this influence his aggression on Saturday night. Kampmann, who is 6'0" and 170 pounds, must use his incredible knockout power and underrated ground game to come out with a victory as five of Daley's losses have come on the ground. If he can keep Daley on the ground and not upright, it could be a very short fight. He does stand to lose quite a bit if he is defeated. Kampmann could face losing his bid at a shot at Georges St. Pierre.

Daley will compete in his first UFC fight on Saturday night. His overall record stands at 21-8-2 with 16 of his wins by (T)KO. The 5'9" 170 pound Daley has incredible knockout ability and could end the fight early with his powerful punches. However, his takedown defense is a big question mark and he must try to keep this a stand up fight. He is coming into the fight riding a two-fight winning streak and is looking to make this his third straight win. He could make a huge case for himself, should he defeat Kampmann, that would prove to all of his doubters that he belongs in the octagon.

Kampann comes into the fight as a huge favorite and his betting line is set at -500. Daley comes in with a line set at +300 according to BoDog Sportsbook.
