Four Pro-Gambling Rallies Scheduled This Week For Ohio Issue 3

casinosOn November 3rd, the ballots will open allowing for Issue 3 to finally come to fruition or be cast aside. Whether or not gambling expansion is to take place in the state of Ohio has been passed back and forth between proponents for and against the expansion, but the battle will end when the votes are tallied and those who care to do so cast their vote. Though the culmination of their efforts has been long in the wait, the pro-gambling enthusiasts are far from done pushing their opinion.

Over the next week, four major rallies, headed by public officials, labor unions, casino developers, and unspecific supporters of Issue 3 will gather to reinforce their opinion amongst the public. The first began October 26th, carrying a large turn out to support gambling expansion with the state.

"I'm a supporter of Issue 3," said Andy Douglas, former Ohio Supreme Court Justice, who served as the Master of Ceremonies for the event. "We need to support this issue to jump start our economy and get out of this recession."

It is estimated that over 34,000 new jobs will be created by the expansion of gambling within the state. Construction contracts alone are expected to draw hundreds of thousands of dollars into the state, helping stimulate and nurture the badly damaged economy boasted by Ohio.

Issue 3 states that the four largest cities within the state will receive a first class casino, capable of generating $11 billion dollars over the first five years. It is also estimated that an additional $651 million dollars in tax revenue on a yearly basis. Each county will receive a cut of the funds, with every public school district receiving an appropriation.

Issue 3 has received support from mayors, both past and present, local politicians, laborers, and your average gamer. Many casino operators are prospecting the area, and once the issue passes it is expected that an even greater influx of money will be generated through the face off of the proprietors of future casinos.
