Mustang To Make Debut In NASCAR In 2010

Sports Betting News - July 30th, 2009 - Written by Jimmy

Starting next Nationwide series in 2010 we will see the Ford Mustang Body make its debut, it has not been announced what race the Mustang will make its first race in or how many races it will take part in. The Nationwide Series will be using the Car Of Tomorrow chassis full time in 2011 and will start to use it in 2010 for a select number of races. Ford chose to use the Mustang with the Car of Tomorrow package and this will be the first time the Ford Mustang will be used in a NASCAR series. Brian Wolfe, director of Ford North American Motorsports, made the announcement on Tuesday. Wolfe had mentioned he will bring out the first Mustang early this fall for everyone to see the car.

"The Mustang created the pony movement when it debuted in 1964," Wolf said. "Now the NASCAR Mustang has the opportunity to create a whole new look to stock car racing at its highest levels."

Dodge will be using the Challenger body to go with the Car of Tomorrow chassis in the Nationwide Series. Where as for Chevrolet will be using the same car it uses in the cup and that is the Impala SS. Even though NASCAR officials had mentioned to Chevrolet they would like to see the Camero used with these chassis. That would be pretty bad ass to seeĀ  Camero, Challenger, and Mustang all on the track to bring back the American Muscle from the good ole days.

Toyota is believed to be racing the Camry, which is also their cup car. There may be a different style though, they have been talking about using the Solara version of the Camry which is more sporty.
