Admirable People, Or Just People Of The Year ?

Gambling News - December 2nd, 2009 - Written by Bonnie

time person of the yearTime Magazine is one of the most acclaimed magazines ever published, and to even be mentioned in a magazines of that standard would be an honor itself. Time Magazine publishes and annual issue which hosts a list of individuals and or groups of people that have in some way or another influenced us over the year. With 2009 being full of inspiring people and life changing events, choosing just one will undoubtedly be a difficult decision.

Dating back to 1927, when the first Man of The Year was chosen, Time Magazines Person of The Year has created somewhat of a controversy. The title of "Person of The Year" is generally viewed as some type of prize or award, but throughout the years we have seen several people who have effected the world as a hole, in a negative light. People who have effected human life with some type of inflicted tragedy, yet been called a person of the year. World tragedy seems to point out the good and the bad in people all over the world, but does it really deserve an reward for those responsible?

With so many admirable people in the world, setting out to change a single persons life for the better good, it seems that we would have plenty of people to acknowledge on the cover of a magazine. Take for instance the Hudson River incident where the pilot's quick reaction time and professional manner, led to the saving of hundreds of lives. Or the thousands of men and women fighting to give us the very freedom that we as Americans sometimes take for granted. The list could go on and on, but an award such as "Person of the year", should definitely be someone who has in one way shape or form, earned the title.

Entertainment Betting gives everyone a chance to voice their opinion on who they think should be named Person of the Year. You can find these betting odds through online sportsbooks such as DSI.
