NFL Players In the Spotlight

Gambling News - August 17th, 2009 - Written by Bonnie

dsi betting odds for next nfl player to get arrestedIt comes as no surprise to see NFL players in the head lines, that is when it is for the right reasons. There is a unbelievable amount of talent displayed in the NFL and for some players its a dream come true to have a career that they love and make the kind of money that we see professional athletes making these days. Millions and millions of dollars for playing a sport that they absolutely love sounds like a pretty sweet gig. You really have to wonder what these players are thinking when it comes to run ins with the law. Just recently it was announced that Denver Broncos player LaMont Jordan was being sued for unpaid debt at Las Vegas Casinos. Jordan can find himself in the same boat as NBA player Antoine Walker, who was arrested for the same charges as Jordan is being accused of. Failure to pay lines of credit issued by casinos is much like writing a check without funds to cover it and that can certainly land you in jail.

Then you just have your, what we like to call, "stupid criminals", such as Michael Vick. Vick could never of thought that his illegal actions in the dog fighting ring would not eventually be uncovered. Michael Vick was in fact arrested, charged and convicted, which earned him a 2 year jail sentence. Vick is most certainly rethinking the decision to be part of such a inhumane and illegal activity but definitely glad the Philadelphia Eagles have welcomed him on to the team this year.

The 2009 NFL season is set to be a challenging one for all teams and to loose a player under any circumstances could be very damaging to the teams success, especially if it was due to the fact a player was unavailable for work because he had been arrested. DSI Sportsbook seems to think some players are more likely to be arrested in the 2009 NFL season and the odds and lines show just how much. Guess we will have to stay tuned to the 2009 NFL season to see just how right they are.
