Betting On PGA Golf
The 2009 U.S. Open is one of the four Major Championships in golf being played this year. The U.S. open remains one of the largest tournaments, usually with huge tracts of rough. The U.S. Open is open to all professional golfers, as well as amateurs with a USGA Handicap that does not exceed 1.4. This applies to males and females. Over half of the 156 players are exempt from qualifying. Winners from the last U.S. Open are automatically exempt from qualification. The 2009 U.S. open is directly tied into the Masters in that the top Eight players are automatically invited to the next season's Masters tournament.
The 2009 US Open will be held in Bethpage State Park, Black Course, in Farmingdale, New York. The tournament is expected to run from June 18th to the 21st. Last year Tiger Woods claimed victory, and will presumably be returning this year to defend his championship. Last time Tiger went to the U.S. Open in Bethpage, he took the victory and was the only player to score under par. The Bethpage Black Course is seen as one of the most difficult and garnered a lot of attention amongst fans. This has caused the US open to return to the Black Course.
If you are ready to start betting on the 2009 U.S. Open, round 1 is kicked off Thursday, June 18th with the gates open at 6 am and closing at 7pm. Play will begin at 7. The last pairings commence at roughly 2:42 in the afternoon. Round 2 follows the same format, on June 19th. The number of players that make the cut at the conclusion of the second round will determine what time Rounds 3 and 4 will begin. The first pairings will begin between 8:00 and 8:30 in the morning, and is scheduled to run until 7 pm. The final pairs on these days will run until 2:50. There will be, in the event of a tie, an 18-hole playoff on June 22nd to determine the winner. This may or may not be necessary - only time shall tell. Live TV coverage is expected, and this is bound to be one hell of a match.
