9/10/2009 - Tennessee @ Pittsburgh - In this one, go with Pittsburgh on the money line. The bet doesn't pay very well, and Tennessee's line may be enticing, but Tennessee has four injured players and is down one of their best wide receivers, Nate Washington. It is questionable whether or not he will play in tonight's game. Roethlisberger is reported to be in top shape following his Achilles tendon, and should be throwing the bombs we know him for over the evening. It may be a good idea to go with Tennessee on the spread, however. Steelers also have the home team advantage. This is definitely one in which you will want to go with the home team's money line. 9/10/2009 - In tonight's NFL opening game where Tennessee travels to Pittsburgh, oddsmakers have the Steelers favored by 7 with an over/under of 35.5.  I like the Steelers to cover in this one at home.  The Steelers defense will be stout and their offense is well balanced.  I like the under on this one as Titan quarterback Kerry Collins will face a tough defense and they will not score on this Steeler defense enough to help go over the 35.5 points. LOSS/WIN

9/3/2009 - Pittsburgh over Carolina (-3) straight up -- Payout +150 -- Carolina has allowed 32 points per game so far this preseason and their defense is missing four starters.Jake Delhomme hasn't thrown a touchdown pass yet. Preseason games are always a toss-up due to reserves playing the majority of the game, and Carolina is favored. But, Pittsburgh is coming off a 17-0 shutout against the Bills and with a +150 moneyline payout on the Super Bowl champs, the risk is worth the reward. WIN

9/10/2009 - Pittsburgh over Tennessee -straight-up -- At the start of the season, you can reasonably look at two teams and make a reasonable assessment of who you think will win. Still, there's a large margin for error. It's at Pittsburgh and no Super Bowl defending team has lost it's home opener since the NFL started this Thursday night Kickoff Special. Plus, the Steelers truly believe their defense is better and more versatile than last year. WIN

9/10/2009 - Tennessee Titans (+6.5) vs. Pittsburgh Steelers (-6.5) - This game is the opener of the 2009 NFL Season and emotions are sure to be high. I don't see the Titans winning this game because of the stingy Pittsburgh defense. The Titans must run the ball to win, and those yards will be tough to come by tonight. However, Tennessee has quite a defense too. While Tennessee will not win, they should be able to stay within the 6.5 points they are getting. Take the Titans and the points. WIN

9/13/2009 - San Francisco 49ers (+6) vs. Arizona Cardinals (-6): The defending NFC Champs open at home in Week 1 against the San Francisco 49ers in a NFC West showdown. With the line only being at 6 points, I have to take the Cardinals to cover in this one. Kurt Warner and Larry Fitzgerald are geared up for another run to the Super Bowl and it begins in week 1. Even if Anquan Boldin is ineffective, the Cardinals should easily beat the 49ers in this one. Lay the points, and take the Cardinals. Their payout at Bovada is currently at -115. I'm sure you can find better pay, but you will have to lay more points so the Bovada bet is a little better.
