  • Status: Completed
  • Winner: Sean Getzwiller
    Buy-In:
    $1,000
  • Winner's Take: $611,185
  • Runner Up: Sadan Turker

The 8th event in the World Series of Poker is set to be a good one. This is the second no limit Texas Hold 'em event, but this time the buy-in is significantly lower than the first no limit Hold 'em event. Instead of requiring a $5,000 buy in, this tournament only requires a $1,000 buy in, making it attractive to more players. This should be the biggest event early on in the series. This event is expected to be so large that it carries two first days, with a Day 1A and a Day 2B. With the enormity of this tournament, the prize pool is expected to be huge.

On June 4th, this event will kick off. This is expected to be a five day event. Day 1A of the event begins on June 4th at noon, while Day 1B starts Sunday, June 5th - also at noon. The buy in of $1,000 is expected to attract a number of different players. The first $1,000 No Limit Hold 'em tournament in last year's World Series of Poker brought in over 4,000 players, bringing in a prize pool of almost $4,000,000. Expect this tournament to be one of the largest in the early leg of the World Series of Poker, and it should prove to be one of the most profitable in the whole event.
