(New Updates Posted Daily During Event)

Day 1 Update - The 45th event attracted 2,890 people, building a $2.6 million prize pool. This tournament attracted many familiar faces, and many have busted out. Amongst those who are done and gone include Freddy Deeb and Tom Dwan, but many more are still in play. Antonio Esfandiari holds 70,300 chips, with Phil Hellmuth running with 25,600, Jean-Robert Bellande running with 21,000, and Matt Graham sitting with 30,000 chips in his stack. Antonio Esfandiari is in 7th with his sizable stack, with the chip leader holding twice as many chips - 141,600 to be exact. Jonathan Driscoll, who has 118,600 chips in his pile, holds second place. The day was full of excitement, with Antonio Esfandiari running a few exciting prop bets with Andrew Chevalier being sent into the crowd with a few odd prop bets. Esfandiari offered Chevalier $100 to go across the rail and touch Tom Dwan's hair for ten seconds. Risking being thrown out of the Rio, Chevalier succeeded in making physical contact with Dwan. Chevalier was then sent to Freddy Deeb at Dwan's beck and call, with Dwan paying another $100 for Chevalier touching Freddy Deeb's head. The ultimate challenge would come when Chevalier would have to touch Phil Hellmuth for ten seconds, risking a blow up out of the poker brat. With This challenge succeeding, Chevalier earned $300 for 30 seconds of work.

Day 2 Update - The end of the second day has come for the 45th event. The official chip counts leave Jonathan Driscoll with 1,247,000 chips, while Kenneth Griffin holds 1,133,000 chips. Antonio Esfandiari has remained strong, with 663,000 chips still in his pile, putting him in fourth place. David Baker is also in contention, though a few spots behind him. Phil Hellmuth had been in the event for some time, though his game came to an end after a long string of victories as he had run card dead for a solid portion of the evening, exiting in 28th place. Of the 2,890 entrants, only 21 remain and the third day could end up giving the bracelet to one lucky player, though a fourth day could also be forced. Antonio Esfandiari is aiming to earn his second bracelet in the WSOP.

Day 3 Update - The 45th event of the World Series of Poker gave an unexpected win to a young man who is well deserving. Kenneth Griffin has earned a bracelet in the $1,000 no-limit hold 'em event, earning $455,356 for his efforts. This comes after serving 10 years in the Marines, which sent him to Iraq and Afghanistan alike. He had to deal with a final day that included Antonio Esfandiari, Jean Luc Marais, David Baker and Jonathan Lane. Kenneth entered the day in second place, and he would maintain this through all of the competition. He entered heads up against Jan Luc Marais, a Frenchmen who was on his way to becoming the fourth player from France to win a bracelet in this tournament. Griffin's efforts would not be stymied, and he managed to pull through the final day to earn his first bracelet.
