Like the 14th event, the 15th is also a form of limit Hold 'em. This time around the event is a pot limit hold 'em tournament, and players will find that pre-registration has been open for several months preceding the event. If you decide to enter this event, you should find that there can be a lot of fun to be had here, all predicated on the strategy required in pot limit hold 'em. Throw in the fact that buy-in is relatively low and what you are faced with is one of the more accessible events in the series.

For $1,500, you can buy into the pot limit hold 'em event that is event 15. This will allow you to participate starting June 9th, the day on which the tournament begins. The tournament kicks off on noon and it will last three days. If you are an apt pot limit Hold 'em player, you should not have too much trouble cashing in this event. Expect the tournament to stay within the confines of the scheduled time, and you will not be faced with too much competition coming into the day.

Tournament Updates
(New Updates Posted Daily During Event)

Day 1 Update - The first day of the $1,500 Pot Limit Hold 'em event ran for ten hours, bringing the number of entrants from 765 to only 88. Ronald Lee is the current chip leader. Those who followed last year's WSOP Main Event will recognize Lee's name as the third place winner. John Racener is still in the running, as is John Dolan. Alessio Isaia has been dominating the tables all week, and he is also in the top ten chip stacks. James Dempsey, Matt Hawrilenko, Hoyt Corkins, and Joe Sebok are amongst the notable players still in the running. Some major eliminations include David Sklansky, Antonio Esfandiari and Liv Boeree have all been eliminated. The bubble will burst on the second day when the 73rd placer is busted out of the event. A minimum prize of $2,912 is available, though the top prize to accompany the bracelet will be $227,232.

Day 2 Update - Out of the 765 that came out to participate, only 10 remain after the second day of play. This $1,500 pot limit hold 'em event brought 88 players to battle it down to the final table, which has been solidified. Brian Rast is in the lead with $1,081,000 chips, with Allen Kessler right behind him. Ali Eslami, John Gordon, Ronald Lee, Andrew Cohen, Mike Paasonen, Daisuke Endo, Ted Lawson and Dajuan Whorley make up the final table. The chip leader Brian Rest holds 1,081,000 chips, and he is dominating his closet competitor by 400,000 chips. A total of $227,232 will go to the winner of this tournament. A $140,309 consolation prize will go to the second place winner. The third day is expected to be the last.

Day 3 Update - The third day of the event 15 began with 10 players aiming for their bracelet, but there could be only one to open up that box of WSOP Gold. The winner of the bracelet, as well as $227,232, would ultimately be Brian Rast, a man who battled through some of poker's best in order to win the tournament. Tom Dwan, Faraz Jaka, Jeff Madsen and many more had all worked toward winning in this field of 765, but only Rast would take it down. Eliminations started off slow, making this a somewhat stressful day. Andrew Cohen was the first to go home, taking about an hour to be knocked out. Ronald Lee was sent home a mere 8 minutes later. From there eliminations would come swiftly until only Rast and Allen Kessler were left.

Heads up play lasted nearly two hours, and this was a roller coaster ride, sending chips up and down between the two. Kessler got all in against Rast with 5c-3c, while Rast held Kh-9-h. With a flop of Ah-3h-5h, Rast was way out into the lead before Kessler had even shoved. A 5 or a 3 were required for Kessler to stay alive, but a pair of 7's on the turn and river gave Rast the championship bracelet for event 15.
