2009 WSOP Event 56 - No Limit Hold 'Em / Six Handed

USA Poker WSOP 2009 WSOP 2009 WSOP Event 56 No Limit Hold 'Em / Six Handed

2009 World Series of Poker Event 56 is the ‘No Limit Hold ‘em/Six Handed’ tournament right before the Main Event. Six Handed poker is a variant of the game wherein only six players are seated at the poker table as distinguished from the conventional nine-player table. Players have to tweak about their game strategy to compensate for the lesser number of players and in the process end up playing more aggressively, placing more bets, raising wagers and so on. This form of poker is fast-paced, adrenaline-packed and exciting. This event was added to the WSOP schedule for the first time in 2005 and has witnessed a steady growth in number of entrants year on year.

The 2008 version attracted 805 players vying for the coveted gold bracelet and the handsome prizepool of $3,783,500. This was the largest prizepool, and the 2009 World Series of Poker Event 56 No Limit Hold 'Em / Six Handed is expected to be even better. Many of poker’s star players took part in the event last year like Dan Harrington, Jeff Madsen, Lee Watkinson, Phil Laak and so on. This year too the event is expected to see some celebrated players. This Six Handed No Limit Hold ‘Em game has an initial buy-in of $5,000.
