The Deuce to Seven (2-7) Triple Draw Lowball is Event 55 in the 2009 WSOP. This is a form of lowball poker where the lowest hand takes the winnings. Lowball poker rewards hands which are considered poor in the traditional sense. This is a ‘draw’ event meaning players are dealt with 5 cards and they may discard 0-5 of these for replacement cards. Triple Draw Lowball typically has three drawing rounds and is played as 2-7 low in this event, meaning that the lowest possible hand is 7-5-4-3-2.

The World Series of Poker 2009 Event 55 has an initial buy-in $2,500. It has been organized as a three day affair with 32 levels of play. Blinds are set for level 1 from $50 - $75 and corresponding limits are $75 - $150. These go up as the levels progresses with the blinds set for Level 32 at $80,000 - $150,000 and corresponding limits at $150,000 - $300,000.

The 2-7 Lowball is one of the lesser popular variants of lowball poker. Last year the event got 238 entrants. Players get $5,000 in tournament chips to begin with. It is expected that 5.6% of the total entry pool will be retained for entry fees and 2.4% for disbursements towards tournament staff.
