The Seven Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better will be Event 53 of the World Series of Poker 2009. The event has a low buy-in of $1500 which should prove to be a good incentive to attract the professionals. This event is another mainstay in the WSOP calendar, and has been greeted with enthusiasm for many years now. Last year, this same tournament had over 500 participants and provided high quality entertainment for the audience and players alike. The winner at the 2008 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better tournament was Ryan Hughes who walked away from the final table with $183,368 in prize money.

The 40th Annual WSOP 2009 Event 53 Seven Card Stud Hi-Low-8 or Better tournament rolls out with a $1,500 buy-in. The tournament will start on the 28th of June at 5 pm and span three days. All players will start proceedings with $4,500 in tournament chips. The game will take place in 30 levels, with each level lasting for 60 minutes. After every second game, there will be a 20 minute break. The final table will begin at 2 pm on the 30th of June. It must be noted that 9% of the entry pool will be withheld for tournament staff and entry fees.
