Day 1 Recap
The World Championship of Pot-Limit Omaha resumes today, and Event 40 has proven highly exciting thus far. Forty-three of Two hundred and ninety five participants remain, with Noah Schwartz on top. Schwartz holds 1,220,000 chips, with the next closest competitor having barely half of that. Marcus Golser sits on a bag of 621,000 chips, Robin Keston sitting behind him with a similarly paltry 606,000. Keston and Golser could theoretically catch up, but the commanding lead held by Schwartz could prove too much. Such a powerful chip lead gives Noah the ability to shove the less affluent chip holders around. Eliminations should come quick, but this tournament still has the potential to go any direction.

2009 World Series of Poker Event 40 Recap
It took $10,000 dollars for each player to join up in event 40, the World Championship of Pot-Limit Omaha. Matt Graham went late into the night, and sealed the deal at 4:30 am, crushing the Russian resident Vitaly Lunkin. Graham took down a quality oponent as Lunkin has won nearly $3 million in the WSOP, as well as two bracelets. Graham, a world class underachiever, dropped out of a pre-med program to persue his poker interest. To date he has won $1,047,270 from the World Series of Poker, as well as two gold bracelets. So, while he has succeeded in making some cash playing games, we are sure his parents are still disappointed with his decision. Unless he's paid them off by now. Van Marcus was their third, and he brought home $278,000.
