Event 39 Of 2009 World Series Of Poker Recap
The 39th event came to a halt when Ray Foley mopped up the last of the 2,715 entrants. His winning hand was a pair of jacks with a queen high, which beat out Brandon Cantu's jacks and seven. Cantu's second place position was not a shallow victory - he walks with slightly over $400,000 for his efforts, which is no laughing matter, as we can all agree, despite his lack of any wrist-based jewelry. Foley, the 37 year old Chrysler employee, won his first bracelet as well as what we could only assume is at least 7 years salary for the M.B.A. holder - $657,969. Wei Mu took the third place position, earning him some honorable mention as well as $269,609. Congratulations to the winners!
