The Pot-Limit Omaha tournament is the Event 35 Pot Limit Omaha of the 2009 World Series of Poker that will be held at the Rio Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas. This is the 35th event of the WSOP and has been slotted to take place over a course of three exciting days. The Pot-Limit Omaha tournament will commence on June 17th and continue on to the 19th of June, 2009. This year’s Pot-Limit Omaha event is expected to be a greater success than last years tourney.
The Pot-Limit Omaha tournament promises to bring in poker enthusiasts from all over the world to vie for the gigantic rewards that the event offers.

The Pot-Limit Omaha tournament, The Event 35 of the WSOP 2009, will commence with the buy in being $5,000. There is also an opportunity for players to receive extra add-ons for $5,000 in tournament chips anytime while the first three levels are being played. Players not availing their add-ons within the stipulated period are automatically presented with $5,000 at the conclusion of the third level. The highest Call value is pegged at $600. Play on Day 1 will go on till the end of the first ten rounds.  The event will have a generous payout percentage and will contribute a percentage of the winnings to the staff as with all events.

Pot-Limit Omaha is a tough game to play, but Richard Austin won the bracelet in event 35. Cliff Josephy and Sorel Mizzi fought with Austin on the long final day, but the egregious miscalculations by Josephy and Mizzi led them to Ruin. The final hand was won by Austin after Mizzi went all-in for a two-pair aces and threes, with Austin clinging to a possible flush. The flush came on the river and Austin knocked Mizzi and Josephy out, taking the bracelet and $409,484 as his spoils of war. The double kill took the latter two by surprise, as well as the spectators. The rapid pace at which Austin won will not soon be forgotten. Congradulations go to him on his victory.
