2009 World Series Of Poker Event 34 Recap
To the victor goes the bracelet, and in this case it was Eric Baldwin who out lasted his competitors in event 34. The final day held 20 participants, but eliminations were as numerous as they were quick. Chips were changing hands rapidly, with leaders, notably Bertrand Grospellier dropping from 1st place to elimination in 13th over a matter of a few quick hands. The last hands were between Baldwin and Jonas Klausen, and they went into the duel with relatively equal chips. A pivitol hand threw Baldwin in a huge lead, however, ultimately tipping the scales in his favor. Klausen fought a good fight, but in the end his efforts proved to be not enough and Baldwin walked with the bracelet in event 34, as well as over half a million dollars. Two hundred and sixteen players were in the money, but Eric Baldwin is the proud owner of his first bracelet in seven cashes.
