The 40th Annual WSOP 2009 Ladies No-Limit Hold’em World Championship Event 17 will begin on the 7th of June. This is another event that has been played for a few years, so most professionals are familiar with the rules. This event has a very low buy-in of $1000 making an enticing play for most players. The event has had huge success in the past, and is expected to do better this year because of the larger awareness among the people. The event has also enjoyed a large following in the past, with many avid poker enthusiasts tuning in to watch from the beginning to the end. This year as well, many television networks have decided to cover the 2009 World Series of Poker event 17 event.

The 17th event in the 40th Annual WSOP 2009 is the Ladies’ No-Limit Hold’em Championship with a $1000 buy-in. Event 17 of the 2009 WSOP Ladies No Limit Hold 'Em World Championship will span 3 days, starting at 12pm on Sunday the 7th of June. As with the other tournaments, each level will last for 60 minutes, and there will be a 20 minute break after every second level. The final table will take place on the evening of the 9th of June. The total entry pool will include a percentage for the entry fees and tournament staff.

The Ladies only No Limit Hold'Em World Championship ended with Lisa Hamilton walking away with a bracelet and $195,390 in cash. Lori Bender put up a strong fight, but was only able to take second place and a prize of $120,575. Hamilton held a commanding lead throughout most of the tournament, with the final culmination of her victory coming on the third Day. 1,060 ladies gathered to compete against one another, and this tournament proved exciting for all involved - player and spectator.
