Event 11 of the 2009 WSOP s a $2,000 No Limit Hold ‘em. The Hold ‘em game, mostly played no-limit, is one of the most popular of all poker variants in practice today. And this is reflected in the number of hold ‘em events which have been included in the tournament schedule of this year’s WSOP. These events have been devised with varying buy-in points and with limits, no-limits or pot limits. There are also mixed tables for players to choose from.

The Hold ‘em or popularly called the Texas Hold ‘em is extremely popular in casino circuits, physical and online. Last year’s prizepool was an impressive $2,890,260 with a total of 1,593 participants. The 2009 World Series of Poker Event 11 No Limit Hold 'Em tournament structure is a little altered this year with ante bets of $25 having to be placed only from level 5 instead of level 4. This is a no-limit game, meaning that players can bet to the extent of their chips on the table, irrespective of the minimum bet raised.

Event 11's No-Limit Hold'Em tournament concluded day 1. 243 players remain, and 171 players will end in the money. Scott Hall is the current leader, a youthful player, with 144,000 chips. Behind him is Alex Millar, an equally green recruit, standing at 135,000. These young men will be battling known player such as Phil Hellmuth, T.J. Cloutier, and Tom Franklin. The game continues today with a high chance of racousness on the horizon.
