Greenbrier Resort Gains Table Games, Full Casino License

Casino News - September 7th, 2009 - Written by Bonnie

greenbrierWest Virginia's Greenbrier Resort, which has received high profile guests from around the world, has recently seen the new man in charge, Jim Justice, buy the resort the license it needs to hold full blown gambling on the premises. Slots and table games will be added to the already lengthy list of attractions found throughout the revered resort.

The 82,000 square foot facility will feature 40 gaming tables and 400 slot machines when the gambling doors open, adding casino gambling to the available options of entertainment, including high quality restaurants, a mind boggling golf course, and amenities that include a spa treatment. The main event will not be available until at least April of 2010, but a smaller option should be available in October, provided the Lottery Commission approves of the operation thus far.

Justice is aiming to make Greenbrier a "classy" casino, something that residents of West Virginia will look upon with pride. Lounges, shops, and a coffee bar will all add to the lush atmosphere that Greenbrier aims to achieve. Justice also added that he aspires to receive a five star ranking on the resort, a title Greenbrier had lost in the earliest part of the decade.

The Greenbrier will also feature cuisines from the world over, a jazz bar and lounge, and, to celebrate the resort's revival after an economic spiral, Justice claims he will have a glass of champagne delivered to every casino guest at 8 p.m. daily, and they will be urged to toast each other.

In addition to creating hundreds of jobs, the casino games will be sending a large percentage of revenue to the state. Should the operation perform as well as expected, West Virginia will receive a world class resort that will boost the State's revenues in the perilous economy the United States has seen over the past few years.
