Major Online Casino To Pull From The American Market

Casino News - November 17th, 2009 - Written by Glen

golden casinoOne of the most popular and widely used online casinos has recently announced their unfortunate decision to pull from the American Market. As of December 1st, 2009, Golden Casino will no longer be accepting new accounts from players in the United States. This is also the date that the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act is set to launch.

This sort of switch is not entirely unheard of, as Microgaming and several other large providers of legal USA Online casinos had pulled from the market upon the concoction of the UIGEA. Golden Casino has had its payment processors attacked by the government in recent times, causing them a large financial loss. It is doubtful that the federal government's crusade will end here, but thousands of players have already been affected.

Though existing accounts will not be forced shut, many players have already begun to withdraw their balances from Golden Casino. Though the process may take time, all players will assuredly receive their balances. It is advisable that they request their money before December 1st, as the process may then become difficult.

Though they will be closing doors to new accounts, they have made it quite clear that payments both to members and affiliates will be honored. Despite their having been repeatedly victimized by the government over payment processing, their obligations and commitment to players will be upheld through their closure.

Concerns have been brought up over whether or not other online Casinos That Accept USA Players will pull from the market, though this is still a matter of speculation. Legislators are continuing their battle to have the UIGEA postponed until the issue can be properly discussed, though despite Barney Frank's list of sponsors over 60 members strong, the issue has yet to move through the committee. Until the legal issues are resolved, players will have to find other casinos in which to enjoy their gaming, as there will always be legal gaming centers on the Internet.
