Casino Approved For Kansas City, Kansas

Casino News - December 3rd, 2009 - Written by Glen

casino logoThough the Kansas Lottery had recently denied one company a bid for a casino in the state, this week has changed the pace for the hopes of a new casino within Kansas. The Kansas Lottery Gaming Facility Review Board has approved a project worth over $500 million dollars by at the Kansas Speedway.

Penn National Gaming, Inc. and International Speedway Corp. have entered a partnership that aims to launch the casino by the first quarter of 2012. Over 2,000 slot machines and 90 tables are hoped to be on premises, hosting games such as blackjack, poker, and more. The gambling is expected to generate over $200 million in net revenue by 2013, though some argue that this figure may be higher than reality.

Though the proverbial ground has been broken for the foundation of licensing, the partnership still faces background checks by the Kansas Racing and Gaming commission. This commission will be the regulatory body behind the casino, and must sign off on the project prior to March of 2010. Since Penn National Gaming has casinos throughout the States, authorities do not expect the background checks to lapse the entire window of opportunity.

The Penn National and International Speedway partnership was the last bid remaining for the construction of a Kansas City casino, though there are still many details to hammer out. A hotel is also a required structure for the development of this project, though one has yet to be planned. Should they fail to produce a hotel, the partnership could face financial penalties. Officials from the partnership stated that they had not include a hotel in their plan due to the large number of hotels already surrounding the Speedway.

Though Kansas residents have to wait at least another two years in order to see casino gaming in their area, Legal USA Casinos are still providing players with an opportunity to enjoy all of their favorite table games as well as slot gaming without even having to leave their homes.
