Advantages to Online Blackjack

When you're looking at online vs. land based Blackjack, it's easy to see how the two would be different socially. When you play online Blackjack, you're usually at home at a personal computer. You don't have to go anywhere, don't have to dress up, and certainly don't need to impress anyone, especially at the live dealer blackjack. When you go to real USA Casinos, it's often a long drive to get there, and it is often part of a larger vacation. When you sit down at a real Land Based Blackjack table, you immediately sum up the rest of the players, and you know that they're looking you over as well. You need to be careful to tip the dealer just the right amount, not too much and not too little. Too much looks like you're trying to ask for favors. Too little and the dealer could give you bad advice or just be rude to you. You need to make sure that you're not playing too far from blackjack basic strategies, because if you get the card someone else needed to get twenty-one, they may blame you for taking their card, even if you had no way of knowing. 

Land Based Blackjack

The pace of land based vs. online Blackjack is another big difference. When you're participating in USA Gambling at a table with a bunch of other players, you have to play quickly. You don't have time to think things over. You play the basic strategy, and if you don't know it, the dealer will make the move for you. Play at home against a computer program, and it's a whole different story. Nobody is waiting for you to decide, so you have all the time in the world to choose to hit, stand, double, or split. You can check a strategy guide and no one will bother you or even care.  

The Downside to Land Based Blackjack

One complaint that many land Blackjack players have against online vs. landbased Blackjack is that there is no blackjack card counting. That's true, but you can play multiple hands at once, which gives you access to a lot of information all at once when you're playing Online Blackjack. You can choose, depending upon the casino, to play as many as four hands of Blackjack at once, meaning you can immediately see nine cards. In the scheme of six decks of cards, it may not seem like a lot of cards, but it can make a big difference if you know how to use a count.
