Andy Roddick became just the third active player to have at least 100 wins in a grand slam championship earlier in the Wimbledon championship, and he improved to 101 wins today with his win over Jurgen Meltzer. He is in the company of Roger Federer and Lleyton Hewitt as the only ones with over 100 victories. This was a big day for Roddick after he made an extra early exit from the tournament in 2008.

Andy Roddick was able to pull off a win in a 6-6 tie in both the first and second sets to help him gain a big advantage in the match. He started the third set off hot as well but later choked it away and was forced to go into a 4th set in order to pull off the victory. During the 4th set he jumped out to a 4-1 game lead but then let Melzer bring it back to only a 4-3 game lead in the set. Roddick was finally able to pull off the victory by breaking the serve of Melzer and then closing him out with an ace for a final of 6-3. Roddick ended up having 33 aces in the match, which really pushed him over the edge for the victory and let him move on to the 4th round of the tournament where he will face Tomas Berdych.

Andy Roddick was not the only big name that got a victory and was able to move on to the 4th round of Wimbledon. Roger Federer and Andy Murray were both able to move on to the next round where they will play on Monday. Roger Federer was able to beat Philipp  Kohlschreiber on Friday in 4 sets and Andy Murray managed to easily handle Viktor Troicki in 3 straight sets.

Players are going to be starting play of the 4th round of Wimbledon on Monday at 7AM EST where they will have 6 different matches going on at once. There will also be 2 matches that start at 8AM and one match that begins at 1PM. Wimbledon has traditionally not played on the Sunday before the 4th round so that they can make sure that the entire 3rd round is complete. With any kind of luck at all, viewers will get some more great matches and maybe even get to see a showdown between Roger Federer and Andy Murray.
