World Poker Tour Comes To Bellagio Las Vegas

Poker News - October 13th, 2009 - Written by Glen

world poker tourThe World Poker Tour is one of the largest and most successful strings of tournaments in poker. Since its founding in 2002, the World Poker Tour has put millions of dollars into the hands of players, and involves many of the biggest professional players on the circuit. The Tour travels the world, as the name implies, but in October, the World Poker Tour will land in the Bellagio Las Vegas.

The games have already kicked off, giving us over twenty-four days of exciting poker play. Texas Hold 'em is the name of the game, and there are many tournaments leading up to the WPT Championship. With buy-ins ranging from $500 to $15,000, players of all levels are eligible to join in on the fun, and perhaps take home a large prize and maybe even a bracelet. In addition to the normal Texas Hold 'em games, there will also be a three day H.O.R.S.E. event as well as a three day Pot Limit Omaha tournament.

Almost every day of October will see a tournament, with few gaps in between. On October 26th, the Championship Final Table will commence at 4 P.M. PST, and will be televised. Players from around the World will assemble to take part, but only a handful of players will go home as the big winners. Anyone is eligible to join, provided they can be there and have the funds in hand.

The main event begins October 21st, and will cost players a steep $15,000 dollar buy in. The event is expected to bring in a large pool of players, making the prize pool equally large. All players can join in on the game, but only few will win.

If you enjoy poker and would like to get in on all the action without having to travel to Vegas, there are a number of Legal USA Poker Rooms that offer several online poker tournaments.
