Public Votes on New Inductee to Hall of Fame

hall of fameWith satellite play already in progress and the first bracelet ceremonies set to begin, this Years World Series of Poker events are sure to be memorable. 2009 marks not only the 40th edition of World Series of Poker, but it also represents the 30th anniversary of the Hall of Fame.  Harrah's Entertainment was pleased to reveal that this years nominations will be cast by the public.  This is the very first time that the public has been able to participate in choosing the nominees.

The poker public will take part in choosing the final ten nominees by going online and nominating players. With this nomination, the public may give a short description, 250 words or less,  of why they feel this player deserves recognition. The ten nominees will be announced during the World Series of Poker Main Event in July and followed by submission to Hall of Fame Committee in August. the Finalist Ballot will consist of the nominees chosen by the public and any additional nominees deemed fit by the committee. The Finalist Ballot will be presented to all 16 living members of the Hall of Fame where along with a group of chosen media, will rank the finalists. Whom ever comes out of the running with 75% of the votes, will be the newest member to the Hall of Fame.
