All the preparation over the past few months with the WSOP Circuit tournaments taking place have hopefully sharpened up the skills of all the familiar faces of poker which will make for some challenging events. Three out of 57 events are closed events, one being the Casino Employee No Limit Hold 'Em along with the Ladies No Limit Hold 'Em Championship and the Seniors Event. They might not be professional poker players but they sure do know their cards. No serious money is at stake but the title of Casino Employee No Limit Hold 'Em Champion as well as being presented one of the stunning bracelets, could just be enough to make an amateur player feel like a professional poker player.

With a small buy in of $500, this first event in the 2009 WSOP brought out over 866 participants. Day 1 proved to be to much of a challenge for most as more than half the players left in the first four hours.
