Iowa Gambling Laws Under Review

June 3, 2009 - Written by Glen

State Lawmakers will be meeting Thursday, the fourth of June, to decide on their gambling issue. Other states on the Horizons have begun to open up toward gambling ventures for revenue, and now Iowa is the next state to follow in suit. If the rate at which casino gambling is becoming legal through out the states, soon enough gaming will be as commonplace as the squirrel.

The Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission will be meeting to discuss the future of gambling in the state. The theory that is to be tested is whether or not adding more casinos around the state would help or hinder. More Casinos concoct competition amongst constituents. The reason for the debate is, frankly, whether or not the new casinos could survive.

The catch is that no matter the outcome, the Voters have to approve casinos in order for them to come to a reality. A county that is already the home of a casino is likely to decline the offer as more than one casino in the immediate area would be too redundant.

To build revenue is the primary purpose of gambling initiative is to infuse money into the state's economy and create jobs. creating jobs brings money to the citizens pockets, so hopefully they will make the right choice.
