Ohio's Recent Gambling increase Faces Heat from West Virginia

Casino News - July 17th, 2009 - Written by Glen

In efforts to boost revenues, the Greenbrier Resort in West Virginia is being overhauled and remodeled. In addition to the new look, casino gambling will be added in order to give extra money into the Resort's coffers.Over the next few months, casino gambling will be incorporated into the Greenbrier Resort. Neighboring state Ohio has recently added slot gaming to their race tracks, but those looking for a more luxurious gambling venture may flock to the Resort for a better over all experience.

Ohio residents who find the race tracks detestable may end up traveling to the Greenbrier Resort to enjoy the four star atmosphere that the West Virgianian location has to offer. Fine dining, luxurious shopping venues, and other amenities are all key features the resort will have that Ohio's slot centers lack.

Residents of Ohio have recently been pushing for the addition of full blown casinos, featuring table games as well as slots, to the state. If this happens to go through, the Eastern threat from West Virginia (ironic, no?) may be something that is disregarded entirely.

Gamblers in Ohio have been flocking to neighboring states for their gambling fix for years. Now that slots have been added, players may be sticking to their state for their gambling needs. If the aforementioned casinos are indeed added, more gamblers will be inclined to stay within the state's borders even more.
