Charity Poker Tournament To Aide Traumatized Children

pokerPoker tournaments have helped fund support to Africa, breast cancer, and now traumatized children. In mid-October, Children's Institute, Inc. will be hosting a celebrity poker tournament, featuring Golden Globe Award-Winning actress Camryn Manheim. The tournament will be held on October 17th, 2009.

Several prizes will be available, including a $5,000 dollar cash prize, a seat on the World Poker Tour, and a high qualty computer system. Currently, players can register as a player, spectator, or sponsor, and those who attend will have a chance to meet an array of celebrities. Jennifer Love Hewitt, Kevin Nealon, Neil Patrick Harris, and many others will be attending.

The tournament will take place in Commerce, California, at the Commerce Casino. Players must be 21 to enter. The proceeds to the event will help fund the the CII, which helps any child who has suffered abuse, trauma, or violence. The total value of the prizes is roughly $30,000 dollars. This is the first Annual tournament, which suggests that the game may be held yearly.
