Absolute Poker to Help Student's with Tuition

Poker News - October 4th, 2009 - Written by Glen

absolute pokerThroughout the United States, gambling, most notably lotteries, typically help fund many forms of education. Absolute Poker is taking education a step further by reintroducing the Absolute Poker College Challenge. Six students who outclass their peers will meet around a live final table with a shot at the $10,000 dollar tuition package.

On October 4th, the event will kick off. Absolute Poker is helping students, regardless of financial status, get into this tournament. Even those majoring in philosophy or social work will see that this is a good deal, as many of the tournaments enabling players to move toward the ultimate goal cost absolutely nothing. Like absconding with a parent's credit card to buy the next keg, these freeroll tournaments will give even the most underachieving student a chance for a cheaper, if not free, education.

The steps into the main event include freeroll tournaments, $0.25 cash games, and $5 dollar cash games, all culminating in the weekly Sunday main event qualifier. The games will continue until November, at which time the online main event will take place with over $30,000 dollars in prizes. The top six from this event will meet in Los Angeles for the final showdown, as well as a shot at the tuition package.

Basic rules apply in this tournament, as well as a few stipulations. All entrants must be current students, be it full or part time, at an accredited institution. Participants must be able to furnish proof of enrollment upon Absolute Poker's request, and all entrants must scan a valid student ID prior to participating in the main event. Player's unable to make it to the live event will be able to pass off their seat to another student, provided they can prove their status as a student.

Players will have to sign up for Absolute Poker to take part in this event, opening the doors for not only this series of tournaments, but all those that there in lay. At this time, Absolute Poker is also offering a 150% match bonus to all new players, allowing them to get into the game with a burst of cash in addition to their own deposit. The Tuition tournament's clock is ticking, so any student who is actively pursuing an education is invited to join and take their chance at the Absolute Poker College Challenge.
