Chartier Loses Out On Oscar Events, Deserves Razzie Award

Gambling News - March 5th, 2010 - Written By Bonnie

oscarThe red carpet is laid and all of Hollywood's biggest stars are ready for the 82nd Academy Awards, which take place Sunday March 7th. The year of 2009 was full of blockbuster masterpieces, and now everyone who worked on these motion pictures, both in front of the camera and behind the scenes, will be acknowledged for all of their hard work. A few films that received numerous nominations in several different catergories are James Cameron's Avatar and the war film " Hurt Locker' directed by Kathryn Bigelow. Both films rocked the box office and are still on the list of must see films of 2010.

Being awarded an Oscar is one of the highest recognitions in the motion picture industry. Some go their entire careers without ever capturing one of the prestigious awards, despite their success with some Hollywood films. For one Hollywood producer, he may have to wait yet another year, to be publically acknowledged for his work on "The Hurt Locker." Nicolas Chartier, one of the producers of "The Hurt Locker," will not be waiting on the sidelines to capture the awards, should they be called to the stage, as he has officially been uninvited to Sunday's event, after trying to persuade the Academy to vote for his film.

Sources say that Chartier actually campigned his movie by contacting the Academy's executive committee of the producers branch via e-mail, urging them to vote for his movie. The e-mails referenced comparing revenue numbers, obviously with that of Avatar, as well as e-mails requesting a vote for Best Film of The Year, of which Avatar is also one of the nominees. Acts of promoting a movie are strictly prohibited and the only notice it brought to "The Hurt Locker" producer is the penalty impossed by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, banning him from the Oscar Festivities.

This just goes to show that even the producers and directors of these films know how close of a call it will be for the category of best picture, and online bettors can find out just how close of a race it is, through Oscar Betting Lines provided by BetUS.
