Electronic Check Still Viable As Casino Deposit Method

Casino News - March 9th, 2010 - Written By Glen

echeckCredit Cards are becoming less viable as a deposit method, and some players have reported too much difficulty from e-wallets. One form of direct depositing into online casinos remains strong, however. This method is the electronic check.

Reports have been coming in from several players who, after having their debit card denied, decided to turn to electronic checks as their deposit method.

"My VISA debit card was blocked. I use a local bank, so I did not think they would block the deposit," began Jon Turner of Kansas City, Missouri. "So I pulled out my check book, threw in the required numbers, and was well on my way to casino gambling."

Electronic checks are a simple prospect. Despite their ease of use, they have become one of the most formidable of all deposit methods - especially when the credit card stoppages have become all too common. All one must do to make an electronic funds transfer is enter the routing and account number on their check. A Social Security number will be required, but this is so the e-checks casinos can verify the identity of the user.

The one major issue with electronic checks as a casino deposit method is that of availability. Not many online casinos regularly accept electronic checks, but there are still several that do, most notably Aladdin's Gold and Lucky Red Casino.

Though not in common usage, early reports have suggest that, in order to counteract the credit card drought, many USA online casinos could be turning to electronic checks as a primary deposit method. Despite their ease of use as a direct deposit method, electronic checks are also the primary way in which e-wallets, such as eWalletXpress, are funded.

Players can also expect to see expanded bonuses simply for using electronic checks as a deposit method.
