Casino News - January 22nd, 2010 - Written By Glen

casinoIn order to keep up with the new competition from Pennsylvania, Delaware legislators had announced earlier week that they intended on including table games into racinos around the state. In under a weeks time, the legislation has already spread its wings and soared through two legislative committees on Wednesday, and has been partially approved by the Senate.

House Bill 310, he larger of the proposed legislation, is set to legalize table games as well as set the tax rate. This portion of the bill has already been approved by House Gaming and Parimutuels Committee. Before the bill was brought to the house, many expected it to pass with flying colors - and pass it did, as the House has passed the bill with a 27-5

Delaware Park, Harrington Raceway, and Dover Downs are the casinos that will receive the table games designed to keep players from traveling to Pennsylvania, or indeed Atlantic City, in order to enjoy casino gaming.

This legislation comes shortly after the decision to block an additional series of casinos in the state, giving players some expanded casino gambling rather than none.

In addition to the jobs that will be created through construction and the operation of the tables, be it dealers or more executive types, state jobs are also set to be created by the legislation. Up to 40 new positions were theorized in according to the new bill.

The bill also states that some tax revenue will be distributed for the treatment of pathological gambling. Until these games pass, players have Delaware online casinos to play their favorite table games at.
