More Pennsylvania Casinos Open Their Doors To Public With Table Games

July 13, 2010-  By Bryan Cross

As Pennsylvania begins to open up all of their casinos featuring table games, the anticipation and expectations about the gaming industry within the states continues to rise.  At Mount Airy Casino, they will begin to open their table games to the public, which will feature a total of 72 tables throughout the casino.

“I think we’ve met and hopefully surpassed everyone’s expectations,” said Mount Airy Vice President of Casino Operations Jim Tuthill. “A true casino offers both table games and slots. One truly complements the other.”

Back on March 15, Mount Airy Casino began training the 240 casino game dealers.  As officials from the Pennsylvania Gaming Commission looked on to see how the casino ran.

The casinos are looking to get into a new market, and to date it appears that they have generated the interests that they had hoped.

“Probably people are willing to spend a little more money” said casino goer Chris Cobb.

In addition to the Mount Airy Casino, other Pennsylvania Casinos, including the Mohegan Sun and the Hollywood Casino will also open their doors on Tuesday at 10 am to the public.

The officials for the State Gaming Commission met with each of the Casinos managers for the three casinos to discuss the test runs and the process that will each will take to open up their doors to the public.

Each casino was given the “green light” according to an official with the gaming commission.

The first three casinos to to open to the public featuring table games have been operating since earlier this month in Washington, Erie and Pittsburgh, and have reported to be running smooth to date.
