Nevada Gambling Licensees Report 4.73 Percent Decrease In May

The full figures of the gambling revenue from the Las Vegas gambling centers has been released. The Nevada Gaming Control Board has released the final figures for the month of May, as well as the preliminary figures for the month of June.

The non-restricted gaming licensees in Nevada have reported a total gambling win of $847,153,488 for the Month of may. Compared to May of 2009, this totals to a 4.73 percent decrease. In May of 2009, the licensees reported a win of $899,170,777.

The fiscal year of July 1st, 2009 to May 31st, 2010 has shown a total decrease of 4.10 percent.

According to reports, the North Las Vegas area had been one of the very few locations to end the month of May on a high note. The gambling centers in the North Las Vegas region showed a 8.83 percent increase. The Las Vegas Strip took a 6.37 percent drop, running from $480,814,649 to $450,177,289 in May of 2010.

Tax revenue from the gambling centers in Nevada have shown to be a 15.27 percent increase for the month of June 2010 compared to last year. While this represents preliminary data, the news of a financial upswing for Nevada’s gambling industry is one that has been anticipated for a long time running.

Though the gambling industry in Nevada, indeed nationwide, has been ailing, the regulation of online gambling has not yet come to light. USA online gambling encompasses online casinos, sportsbooks, and poker rooms, and these forms of Internet gambling have not yet been regulated for tax collection.
