Delaware Casinos Get Ready For Table Games Next Week

June 18th, 2010-  By Bryan Cross

Delaware has taken the steps in their casinos to compete with their neighboring states relating to table games, specifically Maryland.

The three casinos in the state of Delaware are preparing for several dozen table games to keep the revenue that tourists from Maryland come.  In fact, roughly 50 percent of some of Delaware’s casinos revenue comes from the state of Maryland.

Currently, table games are outlawed in Maryland, which will give Delaware a big leg-up on their neighbor with competition.

From the look of it they won’t have table games for quite a while, so that gives us an edge for some period of time and we hope to take advantage of that,” remarked Ed Sutor, who is the CEO of Dover Downs Hotel and Casino said.

As a result of the table games, Delaware casinos have spent millions of dollars to bring them into the state, and have hired several hundred employees to work them.

While it is considered a potential risk, the casinos collectively say that they believe it will be worth it.

“We spent $4.5 million on table games, in addition to the hundreds of millions of dollars spent over the past few years. So we are anxious to make some of that money back,” Sutor stated.

The launch of the new table games in the state of Delaware are slated for next week, with a big anticipated opening weekend expected from the casinos.

While not deirectly effected by the launch of the table games, Delaware Online Casinos feature several games that are available to all players, to ensure that Delaware gambling comes full-circle.
