Atlantic City Casinos To Enjoy Huge New Years Eve Bash

December 26th, 2010 – by Glen Farmer

Though Atlantic City casinos have been contending with lower than desired revenue, the casinos in the region have made it clear that New York is not the only city in which New Year’s Eve celebrations will be big on fun.

Despite the recession, New Jersey casinos are set to offer enormous parties, celebrations and events on the night of the New Year.

“New Year’s Eve is extremely important,” began Mark Giannantonio, president of the Tropicana Casino and Resort. “In most cases, it’s our busiest day of the year. We have not scaled anything back for New Year’s Eve. We want to hit it head-on. We don’t anticipate the recession will have any impact this year.”

Giannantonio has estimated that more than 10,000 people will be visiting the casino.

Bally’s Atlantic City, Caesars Atlantic City, Harrah’s Resort and Showboat Casino Hotel, all properties owned by the Caesars Entertainment Corporation, are also expecting enormous demand for gaming in the region.

Many casinos have already sold out their hotel rooms, which is much needed revenue during the huge declines in gaming revenue, due in part to recession and increased competition in the area.

Unfortunately, most estimates still show that New Jersey casinos in Atlantic City will not rebound even as early as 2014.
