World Poker Tour Making First Stop In Biloxi In Early January

The World Poker Tour recently added a stop on the tour in Biloxi, and this marks the next event in the World Poker Tour. Biloxi’s Beau Rivage casino will host the tournament, marking the first of its kind in the region.

The Southern Poker Championship will kick of On January 6th, beginning with satellites and minor events. Omaha, stud, and hold ’em will all be available through the events, with buy-ins ranging from $300 to $2,500.

The main event of the series will begin on January 23rd. This tournament will be the standard WPT No Limit Hold ’em title event. A total of $9,700+$300 will be required in order to buy into the event.

Super satellites and a survivor tournament will also be available.

Biloxi’s poker scene has been growing, as the World Series of Poker Circuit just added a stop in region.

The most recent WPT event was the World Poker Tour Five Diamond Poker Classic. Antonio Esfandiari managed to win the main event of this series, which occurred on his birthday.

Under a dozen events remain in the World Poker Tour. The tour will end for the year on May 20th, 2011.
