Pennsylvania Gambling Revenue Continues To Rise

The revenue figures from the casinos in Pennsylvania have risen once again. The slots revenue in the state has risen 8.37 percent over the previous year.

The ten different casinos operating in Pennsylvania collectively generated $180,206,835 in gross revenue. This can be contrasted to the $166,293,583 in November of 2009.

Tax collections amounted to $98,651,84 for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This represents an average of $3.28 million dollars of tax revenue every day.

In November of 2009, there was one less casino. Without the new casino, SugarHouse, revenue only jumped a total of 2.4 percent over the year.

Rivers Casino experienced the largest boost in revenue. Rivers experienced a 25.21 percent revenue increase over the year. A total of $19,802,239 had been collected in the casino.

Parx Casino managed to be the biggest earner. The Philadelphia based casino generated $28,959,312 in revenue. This represents a 2.3 percent increase over last year’s figure.

Harrah’s Chester Casino and Racetrack, The Meadows, and the Mohegan Sun at Pocono downs all experienced a drop in revenue.

SugarHouse, the new casino, generated only $9,922,765 in revenue.

Pennsylvania’s gambling industry has proven to be one of the most successful. Pennsylvania’s casinos have been cited as the main reason that Atlantic City has been declining in Revenue.

Revenue on table games for the month has not yet been released.
