Peter Eastgate’s World Series Of Poker Bracelet Sells On Ebay

December 1st, 2010 – by Glen Farmer

One fortuitous eBay bidder is now the proud owner of the 2008 World Series of Poker Main Event bracelet, all without the achievement of earning it through efforts at the poker table.

Peter Eastgate, the 24 year old winner of the 2008 World Series of Poker main event winner, had decided that he was retiring from poker and that he was going to sell his bracelet on eBay.

A total of 116 bids were placed on the device, and the price on the bracelet had risen from the $16,000 starting bid, to over $147,000 dollars. According to Eastgate, he will be putting the money up to charity rather than keeping it for himself. The winnings will go to UNICEF.

A total of 42 bidders battled back and forth for the bracelet, but 7***I, a new account holder with no feedback points, bid on the bracelet multiple times. The winner had bet on the item nine times, and will soon receive the bracelet, albeit with a hefty price tag.

Whether or not Eastgate will stay retired is unknown. Having himself stated that he simply wanted to make enough money from poker to live comfortable, it is likely that Eastgate’s professional career in poker has come to an end.
