Five Diamond World Poker Classic Underway

November 26th, 2010 – by Glen Farmer

The World Poker Tour’s next stop has come to Las Vegas to visit the world famous Bellagio. The Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker Classic has kicked off the introductory events.

This stop on the tour is the first after an extended break that brought the WPT around the globe. The event has begun with satellites and a no limit hold ’em event, but will continue with many more.

Omaha, rebuy events, satellites, and senior’s events will all be part of this stop on the World Poker Tour.

The Main Event of this stop on the tour will begin on December 3rd. The championship event will carry a $10,000 buy in and is expected to carry a substantial crowd.

Last year’s edition of the Five Diamond World Poker Classic brought out some big names, and many of them made it in the money. Antonio Esfandiari, Matt Stout, and John Juanda all made the cash, while the final table was comprised of Daniel Alaei, Josh Arieh, Faraz Jaka, Shawn Buchanan, Scotty Nguyen, and Stephen O’Dwyer.

Daniel Alaei ended up taking the WPT Title in the 2009 edition of this tournament.

The new title for this year will be handed out on December 8th. Satellites will be running for this event up until the day it begins.
