October 28th, 2010 – by Jimmy

Fresh off the beat down of Brock Lesnar, oddsmakers from the leading UFC sports betting sites have already released odds for what is supposed to be Cain Velasquez’ next fight… against Junior “Cigano” dos Santos, the number one contender for the UFC Heavyweight title.

Last Saturday at UFC 121, Velasquez (9-0 MMA, 7-0 UFC), 28, punished the previous UFC Heavyweight Champion, claiming the title for himself. Now that Velasquez has that title the crosshairs are squarely on his back and now that he has the title, he’s going to have to fight hard to keep it. That will be especially true if this fight with Junior dos Santos goes down, as it should. Junior dos Santos is a formidable fighter and will come ready for his shot at the UFC Heavyweight crown. Cain Velasquez is versed in wrestling as well as kickboxing which should make for an interesting fight with Junior dos Santos. Velasquez is well trained and is always prepared. Training is intense and it shows in Velasquez’ conditioning and work ethic.

Cain Velasquez’ last 5 fights:

UFC 121: October 23rd, 2010 – Cain Velasquez TKO‘s Brock Lesnar in first round

Junior dos Santos (12-1 MMA, 6-0 UFC), 26, is a well versed fighter skilled in kickboxing as well as Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and is capable of holding his own as evidenced by his record. In fact, since joining the World’s best in the UFC, Junior dos Santos is a perfect 6-0. It’s really no wonder when you look at dos Santos’ background. Trained by a former UFC Heavyweight Champion, Antônio Rodrigo Nogueira, as well as the current UFC Middleweight Champion, Anderson Silva, Junior dos Santos is definitely with talented company.
