Gambling License Granted To Cosmopolitan For Vegas Strip

October 25th, 2010 – by Glen Farmer

Last Thursday, the Nevada Gaming Commission approved the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, a $3.9 billion dollar hotel-casino resort. Despite the ailing gambling industry in Nevada, this resort is expected to spring upon the strip.

The Gaming Commission unanimously approved the license after a long presentation.

The resort is set to open on December 15th with a 100,000 square foot gaming center and a 3,000 room resort. A total of 1,500 slots and over 80 table games have been incorporated into their casino.

This gambling license is likely to be one of the last handed out in some time, considering the tumultuous state of affairs in which the Nevada gambling industry has found itself in. With revenue reports unstable at best, the true gambler in this case may be the casino rather than the players.

The Cosmopolitan, like other gambling centers in the region, is hoping for an economic rebound in the region.

Nevada’s gambling industry has come to the point where the regulation of Nevada online gambling has been considered. USA online gambling sites operate all throughout the nation, though no federal laws exist to tax the burgeoning industry.
