Michigan State To Be Without Head Coach Mark Dantonio Against Wisconsin Badgers

October 2nd, 2010 – by Jimmy

The 24th ranked Michigan State (4-0) will once again be without head coach Mark Dantonio when the Spartans take on the 11th ranked Wisconsin Badgers (4-0)  as Big Ten conference play begins this afternoon for both teams.

Originally, Dantonio planned on being in the box for the game, but as reported by ESPN’s College Gameday, he was admitted to the hospital on Thursday for a blog clot in his leg. This news came about when Dantonio went in for routine post operation examine after having a heart attack following Michigan State’s dramatic win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish two weeks ago.

Dantonio missed last week’s game, a 45-7 rout over Northern Colorado, but there is little doubt this week’s contest is going to be much more difficult. Currently, College Football Betting Odds show the Michigan State Spartans as 2 point home underdogs (odds courtesy of Bodog Sportsbook).

Will the Spartans rally behind their ailing coach and upset the Wisconsin Badgers? Only time will tell. The game is scheduled for a 3:30pm EST kickoff in East Lansing, Michigan. Coverage of the game can be seen on ABC, ESPN, and ESPN3, depending on market.
